Our People

Our History

1984

Martin Wilheim founds PACOTHANE TECHNOLOGIES as a Division of Paper Corporation of United States, a wholly owned Subsidiary of Unisource Worldwide Corporation, and a NY Stock Exchange listed company. PACOTHANE Release Film is invented and introduced into the market place and becomes the leading product of its type for multilayer PCB production. PACOTHANE Division pioneers the concept of "Just-In-Time" Delivery by appointing exclusive Stocking Distributors, each an industry leader, in almost every PCB producing market in the world. The new concept of offering custom-sized Sheets and Tooling is also introduced.

1988

PACOTHANE Division expands its Product Line to include PACOPADS (Pressure/Temperature Diffuser Pad), PRESSPROBE Pressure Testing Film, PACOTHANE "PLUS" Conformal Film, and PACO•VIA Laminating Film. Like PACOTHANE, these new products prove to be important, scrap reducing, processing components to world-class, high technology, manufacturers of Printed Circuit Boards.

1994

Martin Wilheim personally acquires PACOTHANE'S joint venture, manufacturing partner in Winchester, Massachusetts, in order to vertically integrate the company. Jason Weisman is elected President. With this purchase, PACOTHANE controls it's own R&D Department and Manufacturing Facilities, with over 60,000 sq. feet of space (> 6000 sq. meters), and offers Just-in-Time production. From a secondary Plant in Holyoke, MA, Pacothane Technologies executes all custom-fabrication, special packaging, warehousing and completes shipments to its worldwide customer base.

1999

Martin Wilhelm purchases PACOTHANE Division from Unisource Worldwide Corporation. He forms a new company now known as PACOTHANE TECHNOLOGIES, Division of Multilayer Worldwide Enterprises LLC, which retains the rights to the "PACO" name and U.S. and Foreign Patents. He becomes the CEO, COO, and Chairman.

2002

Pacothane Technologies' Manufacturing Facility, now a sister company, achieves registration to the ISO 9001:2000 Standard, ensuring continual improvement in our ability to serve our customers and to effectively respond to the changing marketplace, through the controlled development and manufacturing of our products from concept to finished product.

2003

Pacothane Technologies formalized Stocking Distributorships in Asia Pacific to support Flex and PCB manufacturing in all of the Asia Pacific markets including China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.

2004

Ed Alois is elected President and General Manager, succeeding Jason Weisman who retires from the company. Martin Wilheim retains the title of Chief Executive Officer and Chairman.

2008

The Warehousing operation and Fabrication operations of Pacothane Technologies, formerly in Holyoke, MA. is consolidated in an expanded Winchester, Massachusetts Manufacturing Facility, fully utilizing the efficiencies of vertical integration, all under one roof. The newly refurbished, additional space, totaling approximately 100,000 square feet (>10,000 sq. meters) is fully air-conditioned and designed to provide a cleaner, controlled environment.
